Eco summer pasture (katun) Vranjak

In this place the starry sky is crystal clear!For a decade already we offer you to be a part of the life of Highlanders from centuries gone by. On the mountain Bjelasica, next to the very border with the National Park »Biogradska gora« (Biograd Mountain), at 1800 meters altitude, is situated the first Eco village in Montenegro –Eco Summer Pasture(katun) “Vranjak”. Eco Summer Pasture (katun)originated based on tradition and life of Montenegrin Highlanders centuries ago, up to modern days. In Eco Summer Pasture (katun) we produce on our own farm,organic food that we serve to our tourists. In the summer pasture (katun) you shall also have a chance to taste some of the »forgotten« national specialties. Here you can rent mountain horses and ride to the nearby peaks in theNational Park, see how wool is spun in the old fashioned way, listen to the sounds of gusle (national music instrument) if you wish, or play a mountain match in indoor soccer on a plateau beneath the summer pasture (katun). If you can’t ride a horse, there is an opportunity for You to take lessons in the riding school, and if you’re not in mood for that you will have available »Mountain bike« bicycles. Innumerable opportunities open up here for “endless” walks on peaks and slopes of Bjelasica and of the National Park…

You will experience night magic in comfortable Eco – huts, listening to the night sounds of the mountain, whooping of awl or howling wolves. If you get up early you will see the first sunrays falling on the mountain range surrounding us, you will inhale with full lungs fresh mountainous air and let yourself to the enchanting views of the surrounding mountains:Komovi, Prokletije, Maganik and Sinjajevina.

Here you are offered possibilities to participate in village – “katun” activities: collectingand splitting woods, milking cows, manufacture of Kolašin’s layered cheese and kajmak (rich cheese), preparation of national cuisine specialties, etc.

Eco Summer Pasture’s (katun) capacity is 80beds in wooden huts with 2to 7 beds. Electricity is secured by solar collectors in all facilities in the summer pasture (katun).

We point out from the menu: Kolašin kačamak (cooked corn flower with added milk and cheese) in two ways, “cicvara” (special pie), “popara” (cooked bread with spices), lamb baked in iron pan, steamed lamb and lamb prepared with cooked milk (varenica), meat prepared village style, roasted lamb, potato baked in iron pan (sač) or cooked potato in a kettle on pothooks, cream with domestic bread baked in iron pan (sač), domestic barbecue sausage, cheese, rich cheese (kajmak), fermented milk and many other things.

Our menu also offers forest specialties: forest fruit, mushrooms and a large number of teas.

We also produce home-made juices, as well as all kinds of domestic brandies, honey, dairy products and meat.

The production method is organic right from the start. And the most important part, the size of dishes is not limited!

Survival

We offer you several days long survival programs in the nature, during winter and summer time. During 5 days of arrangement duration you shall be asked to resolve special tasks and reach the end point where special award is waiting for you. Shelter building and food collection are monitored by experienced guides! Medical assitance in case of need has been secured.

For groups of 4 to 10 persons.

Prices and organization terms are negotiable.

There are also traditional and modern sports: throwing stone from one’s shoulder, long jump, rope pulling, orienteering in nature, survival, archery etc.
Professional guides have been secured.

All details shall be arranged in advance.

The Rafting is organized in the part of Tara from Splavište to Žugića luka. Guests shall be divided into teams and shall be given special tasks, with coordinates, to find hidden things in the caves marked on the map. But before that, they have to find the cave! Each team shall row its own boat, and after the rafting – jeep. Awards have been secured, and the lunch has been organized in the biggest cave of Tara canyon! Professional guides have been secured.

Food is secured on full board basis with an abundance of national specialty dishes.

Minimum number of participants is 4.

Lunch is organized in the mountain house in village Rudanca with the beautiful view over Tara canyon.

Hiking in Mrtvica Canyon

River Mrtvica is right-side tributary of river Morača. it springs out from the slopes of Maganik mountain. It is known for its imposing canyon, around 800 m deep. The path through the canyon has been manually carved in the vertical cliffs and has served for a long time as the only connection for the surrounding villages with civilization. It is a natural habitat of  chamoises and mountain eagles.

Hiking starts in the village Velje Duboko, the remotest village in Montenegro. Lenght of the pedestrian tour is around 9 km, which is timewise around 5 hours. Lunch packages have been secured and the lunch is organized in the national restaurant or at the exit from the canyon.
